Surf and Sand Holiday Park is enclosed by 5 acres of tranquil park-like settings, the only disturbance might be the sound of the waves. The ocean beach, an unbroken 11km of sand is enhanced by a breathtaking view of White Island (Whakaari) and Whale Island (Moutohora) with sweeping views out towards the East Cape.
We are fortunate to have as our neighbours not only the maritime aspect, complete with slip-way and jetty but the Ohope Beach Golf Course, Bird Sanctuary and Tauwhare Pa Site.
The water is great for swimming and surfing and enjoying other water sports as it is one of the safest beaches in the country. Ohope enjoys one of the warmest climates and highest sunshine hours in the country and in the summer the backdrop of Pohutukawa trees is absolutely stunning. You will love it here.
We have three 1 and 2 bedroom apartments that are available all year round. These apartments have stunning views out to White Island from the front balcony and the Ohiwa Harbour from the back balcony. Each of the bedrooms has a queen and single bed whilst the lounge has a couch that folds down to a double bed so the apartment can easily accommodate up to eight people. These apartments are fully self contained with Sky TV and telephones.
Our holiday park is only open to campers staying in tents, caravans or mobile homes from Christmas through until Waitangi Day each year. We have 172 sites which are all powered and most of them have running water and grey waste facilities.
We run an activities programme for the children each day over the summer at 10am, 2pm, 5pm and every second night we show a family movie on a big screen outdoors.
Campers staying at the Surf and Sand Holiday Park are welcome to use all facilities at the Ohope Beach Top 10 Holiday Park next door, i.e. shop, cafe, mini golf, swimming pool, tennis court, beach volley ball, games room, TV etc.
