Get away from the traffic jams and leave the cities behind. The Buller District, home to Westport, Karamea, Reefton, and the Inangahua Junction, is one of the most clean and natural environments that New Zealand has to offer with wonderful scenery, boundless natural forest walkways and beaches to enjoy.
Also with a wealth of historic sites throughout the region, you can learn about the history of this province and the colourful lives of our early gold and coal mining pioneers.

Westport Spa Motel is the ideal place to spend a few days being located midway between the Nelson and Blenheim regions, the Able Tasman National Park and the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers of South Westland. Westport is on the northern bank and at the mouth of the mighty Buller River, close to the Cape Foulwind headland with its colony of resident fur seals.

Around Westport, attractions include the Coaltown Museum with its simulated underground coal mine, the historic Denniston Incline, the West Coast Brewery, Solid Energy's Stockton open cast mine and the Charming Creek Walkway. It's a one and a half hour drive to the start of the Heaphy Track one of NZ's great walks or the amazing Oparara Arch.
Westport is not a place to miss when you visit the West Coast and it is so nice to be able to come home and relax after a great day out in a hot spa bath at the Westport Spa Motel.
