Our Auckland to Bay of Islands Private Tours allow you to experience the drive along some of New Zealand's most beautiful coastline between Auckland and the Bay of Islands, see some giant Kauri Trees, immerse yourself in the founding history of our country at the Waitangi Treaty House in the Bay of Islands and go on a stunning 4-hour cruise to experience this world-famous area including the opportunity to see some of the many Dolphins that live in the area!
We visit the historic Waitangi Treaty House, set in rolling lawns and gardens overlooking the turquoise waters of the Bay of Islands. It was here, on February 6, 1840, that the Pakeha Governor Hobson and the Paramount Chiefs of Aotearoa (New Zealand) signed the document which formed our bi-cultural nation. Ceillhe Teware Teneti Hema Sperath (Director of our company TIME Unlimited Tours) is a direct descendant of two of those Paramount Chiefs; Patuone and Tamati Waka Nene.
Just a step from the Treaty house is Te Tii, Aotearoa New Zealand's most famous and one of the most beautiful Marae, or meeting places. Here, every year on Waitangi Day (February 6) the Prime Minister, the chiefs of Maoridom and the people of Aotearoa New Zealand meet to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
We can provide you with a fully catered picnic lunch (included in your tour price!), so you are strengthened for the rest of your day with us.
From 1:30pm to 5:30pm, take a cruise around the Bay of Islands to see the very best of the Bay of Islands including the famous hole in the rock (own cost). You are also very likely to see some of the many Dolphins that live here, so have your camera ready!
