Tarawera & Lakes Tour
The scenery, the history and of course the Duck make this trip Rotorua's latest "must do" activity, combining fun, learning and new experiences. Our first lake visit is Lake Okareka with its amazing million dollar homes and abundance of bird life. Next we journey out past the Sacred Lake Rotokakahi to see the magnificent volcanic domes of Mount Tarawera. Your second plunge will be into Lake Tarawera where you will hear the stories of the devastation of that fateful day of the eruption in 1886. After cruising Tarawera amongst the local ducks and swans for 15 minutes you can disembark for your opportunity to capture the perfect picture and stretch your legs. Your return trip brings into view Te Wairoa (The Buried Village) before splashing down into Tikitapu (the Blue Lake) your third lake visit. Your homeward leg takes you past Rotorua's burgeoning Te Whakarewarewa Forest back to the sulphu
