All Shelley's original artwork is inspired by New Zealand's wild outdoor scenery. With a unique and delicate touch, Shelley captures the raw beauty and freedom of beach scenes and landscapes, as well as the essence of simple moments. She is a self-taught, natural artist.
Inspiration from local Bay of Plenty scenes gives Shelley's paintings a style that allows this art to be an attractive feature in the home or office.

The mediums used are watercolour using acrylic; and ink pointillism - the use of tiny dots using a fine-tipped artists pen. Her watercolour paintings are built up with subtle washes of colour. In the pointillism pieces, the use of the medium was inspired by Rei Hamon's artwork and a love for illustrative detail.
Shelley produces commissioned paintings from initial live sittings and photographs. She has also been doing freelance illustration work for publishers.
She also has a Home Gallery that people can visit to view her work. An"Open" sign iis out most days. Here she sells original paintings, open and limited edition lithographic and Giclee Fine Art prints, art postcards, art greeting cards, and art stationery sets.
Many tourists have delightedly bought my work to take home with them over the years, as it is almost all local BOP scenes.
