Kiwi Encounter is a unique working hatchery and rearing facility for visitors to view and educate themselves about kiwi - New Zealand's rare and endangered national icon.
Hourly departing tours will allow you to view our husbandry staff working with kiwi eggs and chicks, before they are released back in to the wildlife where they came from. You will also be able to get up closer to the kiwi than ever before in a purpose built open kiwi nocturnal house - with no glass.
