The cuisine is created from home-grown organic produce picked daily from the Paramata gardens and attracting great compliments. A selection of quality New Zealand wines and beverages adds to the dining experience.
One-hour guided tours (included in the tariff) introduce the natural environment. Longer adventures, walking or by kayak, uncover the wildlife and drama of the forest, wetlands and miles of remote sandy beach surrounding the lodge. Owner/hosts Kathy and Neil (recycle-artist/educator) willingly share their extensive knowledge blending local history with ecology.
Franz Josef Glacier is 1 hour, Punakaiki 1.5 hours, Shantytown 1 hour and Hokitika only 30 minutes drive. Two nights (discount rate) is recommended to fully enjoy the Paramata environs. Tariff $280-$340 double room B & B.
