Lake Karapiro is 24 kms long, it is the longest of the eight hydro dams on the Waikato River and the Karapiro Cruiser is the only function boat of its kind on Lake Karapiro therefore making this an inclusive unique experience to patrons of the Karapiro Cruiser.
The beautiful Lake Karapiro plays host to a number of national and international aquatic events each year, including waka ama, rowing, GP Hydroplanes, dragon boats, water ski racing and yachting. The Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust is a wildlife reserve and is predicted to be a large tourist attraction to the Cambridge area and is only 10 minutes from Lake Karapiro.
The Karapiro Cruiser can cater for any event, from corporate functions, special occasions to theme nights all while enjoying the most beautiful scenery Waikato has to offer.
The Karapiro Cruiser is a newly built modern 50-foot catamaran pontoon boat specifically designed for lake and river cruising and is ideal for groups wishing to hold an extremely unique occasion. It has a upper deck which is the prefect place to just sit and relax while enjoying a nice glass of wine or beer or just watching the magnificent, ever-changing scenery pass you by.
The Karapiro Cruiser is survey to hold a maximum of 40 passengers and has a minimum of 15 passengers. We depart from the Horahora Domain, which is only 15 minutes south of Cambridge on Maungatautari Road.
