Nature-wise operates active nature eco-tours into the inspirational highland and hinterlands of the two great trails of Central Otago - the Otago Central Rail Trail and the Old Dunstan Trail. Our tours are planned to suit those walking or cycling the Otago Central Rail Trail and those traveling between Dunedin and Central Otago - including Queenstown.
Nature-Wise tours may be used to give the cycling legs a rest, or perhaps, gain some altitude and look down on where you've been, or maybe learn some of the region's colourful history or, check out the alpine plants in tor strewn landscape at 1400m.
And, Nature-wise may just be the first since the 1860's to offer a regular cross-country tour service between Middlemarch and Clyde via the historic miners route, the Old Dunstan Trail.
This means for Rail trailers, there is at last a neat and fun answer to the question, 'how do we get back to our car?' It also means, the Otago Central Rail Trail and the Old Dunstan Trail are now linked and can be done as a loop or return trip.
